WEEK 12,The book I am reading right now is Indigosummer (Indigosummer, a German book) and I didn`t come that far yet.

Smillia is an exchange student who feels a little lonely in the beginning but keeps saying to herself: "I am here, I will have fun and do the right thing"
+ I went through the same and totally feel her, between nesience and the will for adventures.

You should always do the best of what you have got and being on your own feed teaches you how to stop whining in difficult situations.
A group of Natives started riot against Smillas group but in fact they have their reasons why they do what they did.
+ Nothing what people do is without purpose, if you try to understand the people around you it will be easier to interact with them.

Smilla and her friends should try to talk to them so they can get this situation streight.

WEEK 13
I always used to read, since I learned it in school. It depents on the time how often I pick up a book. But the most important fact is that I need to find a book I am really interested in and that is not that easy all the time. Sometimes I could spend like hours in bookstores, because I usually judge a book by its cover, but when I read the back I lose the interest and look for another ones. So it takes a little until I even found a book.When I really get into a story its hard for me to stop, and when it is really good then the world on the pages seems to be as real as the world I live in.
When I was younger I already read books which are more with a meaning, message etc. then I stared to think so much about it that I couldn`t sleep anymore when I read before I went to bed.
WEEK 14
I have to say that I really enjoyed the project, it`s something different besides normal homework and I would read anyway so I just put some thoughts down and it gathered together as a nice reading blog. We were very independent what I do appreciate, but I think that some students might use that freedom and don`t really do the work because there is not really a control about the pupils work. Otherwise it is a nice idea in Junior class.
I will definitely proceed reading books, but in general I won`t change much of my reading habits I guess but one thing: read more english books!! I think I learned through that project that I just have to go through the book even so I don`t understand every word. It is just good for vocabulary and more understanding of the language. When I am back in Germany I will still read english books beside german ones.
Actually I am pretty confident with what I read and here is the list of books. It took sometimes a longer time because I had to read two or three times to understand the words or because I had to look words up:

WEEK 9
What i think about the Book I read.
The Book Into the wild is a really special one to me. It is not only an inspiration but also a critic about nowadays society. It makes you think about who you are, what you really want and what it means to be a piece of this world. Next to Christopher's story you read about quotations which are deeply and something you should remember. Sometimes i think everyone can identify themself with his feelings and thoughts. And that makes it to a pleasure to read, because you find yourself in it and others. So finally I can say the Book is even better than my expectations and I am glad reading it.
WEEK 10
Spring break summary
Since we have winter break I decided to read a little something in German. The book I chose is "Wolfsblut" (White Fang by Jack London). I actually read this book when I was younger but I forgot almost all of the content.
Since we were on vacation I didn`t read that much, but still enjoyed it. This book just makes me feel good, even so I suppose it`s intented to do right the opposite but well.
And it is kind of sad but allows you to feel close to all nature and wildlife. After spring break I will stop reading the book and continue with Into the wild.

Challenges of Christopher McCandless
Young McCandless leaves his early live to experience it in a totally differnt way.
Challenges at home:
His parents lived in that perfect and new society which is focused at career and money. His parents wanted him to be someone in this world outside but Chris just did not see truth or a need in it. All the sins his parents commited and the mistakes of the world were sitting on his shoulders like a bad virus and he couldn't get rid of this.
His challenge was to deal with what he saw as his burden.
Challenges in the wild:
Christopher started his trip without anything, he had barley food, inappropiate clothes and not much preparation in general. From some people he met at his journey Chris collected some useful things which helped him in every way. But once he was in the "real wild" food was scarce and he had to fight for his survival. But next to those basic needs the loneliness became a huge vice. The challenge of being alone must be one of the hardest for men. You can feel alone even if you are among people, but when you know there are not even people around it drives you crazy after a while.

WEEK 7
Into the Wild...Story Twist
Since this Book is not detailed in a "normal" storyline because it is more like a biography including toughts, reason, etc. between i will simply tell what i think would be interesting of doing instead Christopher McCandless has done.
Christopher tried to flee from society which was in his eyes a sick population and a disease. He couldn`t understand why people must be so cruel to each other and that so many times. There had to be something better, something real. He wanted to feel live in its origin way and his kindness which was hidden behind all lies of the people. So he went to Alaska, alone, without anything. Finally the wildness gave him peace but cought him after time by taking his life. I think a better "twist" would be that he came back alive, based on the fact that he realized that the luck of a man is set in family, friends and love at the end. I wished he could live in what he found but on the other hand no one might has seen what he saw then.

WEEK 6
Summary of "The little Prince"
This book tells the story about the little prince who looks for something to find but doesnt really gets answer maybe because he doesn`t know what he is searching for. Through his trips to foreign planets, after he left his own, he finally lands on the earth where he ends up in the desert, finding a stranded pilot who leads us through the story of the little prince.
In a gentle way it descripes modern issues about time, purpose and life in general.
It also embraces the way of love and trust, its importance and difficulties. Perhaps we should use his thoughts as an example of being and living. Make the good out of whatever we have.

This weeks question asks: Do you want to be friends with the main character, give five reasons.
Spontaneously I would answer with yes, I would.
The reasons why:
1. Justin is a broken sould and i would like to help him, would like to tell him that the world is not that dark as he thinks it is.
2. He needs someone who he can rely on and I would try to be there for him.
3. He could tell me why he feels the way he does.
4. And because he listens when you have something to tell also.
5. But actually I think there are no reasons why you want to be friends with someone. It just happens or not. Important is to stay at the same level and to feel homeful all the time.

This week we find 4 songs covering the book`s content. I have chosen them mainly by the lyrics but also by the feeling the music (intstrumental) gives.

Even the title matches perfectly. David (Justin) is afraid of what could happen so he thinks about the WHAT IF.

This song is really strong and heavy in my opinion. It inspires one to think a lot about yourself within the world and procures a deep sadness; sadness Justin feels which he can`t understand.

Transferred Justins desperation in the worst part. He is deeply hurt, so much that even pain doesn`t make him feel anymore. It is like he gave himself up.

WEEK 3
3 Questions and a lot of answers
1. Why is Justin afraid to be caught by destiny?
Justin or to speak in his real name David saw his little brother almost die. His little brother was convinced to be like a bird, free and able to fly. Just in the last second he realized the danger and didn't jumped from the windw ledge. But in Justin\David the fear of unawareness settled down and he thought its just a question of time until something bad will happen to him. That is why he decided to flee from his destiny.
2. What did it mean to him to meet Anges?
The Girl Anges appeared strange the first time to him. But after time Justin felt attracted to her and his world changed. She was the one who used him for his pictures, found interest in a broken soul she used, not really by attention but by an unexplained feeling. For Justin she became a solution, but the thought got broken as she didn't feel the same. In fact Anges was it who helped him standing up, but is also the one who broke him down again.
3. What gives Justin the feeling of loneliness in the world?
Justin grew, he fell and he got lost in the labyrinth of the world outside the one he knew as a child. In fact its nothing more then his damaged self-confidence and the accident at the airport were the impossible happened. The explosion showed him that it doesn't matter who you are, destiny is faster than you.

WEEK 2
Just in Case- Meg Rosoff,is the title of the book I am currently reading.
The cover shows a greyhound coming out of the dark. He his a product of Justins (main character) imagination and because he attends through the entire story he might be picked as the artdeck. In the corner green branches with leaves express the kind of magical appearance filled with uncontrolled thoughts and desires.
I like the cover and think it matches good to the story without telling what happens in the book but what you could expect.

Hi, I am Vivien and from Germany, now I am sitting here and take part in this awesome English-project whats about reading Books. I would like to get an A and I am pretty sure I wouldnt be able to beat Mr. Strusz so thats why I am not looking for an A+. I think this way is a good one to improve my English language by reading books I am interested in. Okay think thats it for now. Thank you.
